A Message About Therapy Dog Participation: From a Therapy Dog Helping Clients in Glen Allen, VA
Hi, new friend! My name is Flynn, and I’m a therapy dog in training here at Infinite Abilities Counseling in Glen Allen, Virginia. My job? To sit beside you, offer a gentle nudge, or just quietly be present during your therapy sessions. I may not speak human, but I’m really good at listening, staying calm, and offering unconditional comfort—and sometimes, that’s all a person really needs.
Having a Therapy Dog at Your Sessions
Therapy dog participation is totally optional and available for clients working who feel they might benefit from some four-legged support during their sessions. I’m especially helpful when you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or just having a tough day. At this time, I am only able to participate in Aryn's sessions.
Here are some things I’ve helped with in the past:
- Anxiety or panic disorders
- PTSD and trauma recovery
- Autism and sensory sensitivities
- Grief and loss
- Chronic illness or pain
- Social anxiety or fear of vulnerability
- Children’s therapy (I’m extra gentle with little ones!)
People tell me I make the therapy room feel more relaxed and less intimidating—and I love what I do! My presence can help regulate your nervous system, lower stress levels, and give you something comforting to focus on when talking feels hard. Don’t worry—you’re always in control. If you’d prefer I don’t join you and Aryn, that’s okay too! Whether I’m curled up on the floor or sitting in your lap, just know I’m here to support you, one tail wag at a time.
Pawsitively yours,
Flynn ❤️ Your Friendly Therapy Dog-in-Training
